Causes of whiplash injury

May 2021 Whiplash Reforms

Due to the whiplash reforms (May 21) whiplash claims have changed significantly. The new regulations meant that anyone suffering from whiplash are to have an injury ‘worth’ £5,000 (instead of £1,000 as prior) this means that for many claimants their injury may not be significant enough to afford them to pay a solicitor to run their claim.

In May 2021 the government introduced a whiplash claims portal which allows claimants to apply for compensation themselves (litigant in person) following an accident that caused them to suffer with a whiplash injury.
